Wendy Lisa Nichol is a Toronto based artist with a focus on ceramics.

With formal training from OCAD University in drawing and painting, other methods for gaining experience and knowledge in clay were obtained through years of volunteering and working within clay studios across the GTA. As a mid-career artist and ceramic studio technician, Wendy explores the expressive and tactile potential of clay, while fostering spaces and collaborations for exchange and learning.

The work I make is an invitation to slow down, to connect, and to find meaning in the quiet relationships between material, maker, and collector. The vessels I make are hand-built with slabs, coils and pinching. Parts are burnished to invite a softer experience and textured to add and accentuate the movement of the form.
